CHURCH MINISTRIES

Softball Season.  The team finished with a regular season record of 6-9. Unfortunately, they lost the first two playoff games. We are grateful to Dick Clelan for coaching and Cathy Raraigh for running a very fine concession stand again this year. Check out the church’s website for very detailed team statistics. (Thanks Liz & Leroy!).  The website is www.waggonersumc.com (click on “Ministries & Events,” and then “Softball.”) for final statistics. See you next year!

A Fellowship Breakfast Gathering is held the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 AM, at the Fairground Diner.  Anyone in the church who likes to go out for breakfast is welcome to join us.   Please fill in the sign-up sheet so we can call the diner to make reservations.  Contact Pat Sheaffer if your have questions.

Adult Singles Ministry.  Waggoners UMC does not have a formal adult singles ministry at this time. We encourage you, however, to discover and experience Crossfire-New Genesis which is serving singles in  Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Shippensburg, Harrisburg and surrounding areas.  New Genesis merged with CROSSFIRE on January 1, 2012.  CROSSFIRE started in 1978 and has faithfully provided ministry to single adults as they transition through difficult times, such as divorce, loss of a spouse, single-parenting and remarriage. They endeavor to help people overcome their loneliness as singles, to form godly relationships and to grow spiritually.  They are currently hosting several small groups, monthly Community Nights (dinner/ speaker) square dances, singles dances, hikes, games nights, picnics, and more!  CROSSFIRE operates in a friendly Christian environment and reaches out to those who are hurting.  Visit their website at cfire.org.
